Патоген оказался новым коронавирусом (ныне известным как SARSCoV- 2, ранее - под временным названием 2019-nCoV [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>]), который до этого времени не обнаруживался среди человеческой популяции [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit38">38</xref>]. 30 января 2020 года в связи со вспышкой эпидемии ВОЗ объявила чрезвычайную ситуацию международного значения в области здравоохранения [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit38">38</xref>], а 28 февраля 2020 года ВОЗ повысила оценку рисков на глобальном уровне с высоких на очень высокие [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit26">26</xref>]. 11 марта 2020 года эпидемия была признана пандемией [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit29">29</xref>].</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>On December 31, 2019, the World Health Organization was informed of the discovery of cases of pneumonia caused by an unknown pathogen, and on January 3, Chinese services reported 44 cases of pneumonia to WHO in Wuhan, Hubei province [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit37">37</xref>]. The pathogen turned out to be a new coronavirus (now known as SARS-CoV-2, previously under the temporary name 2019-nCoV [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>]), which had not previously been detected in the human population [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit38">38</xref>]. On 30 January 2020, in response to the outbreak, WHO declared an international health emergency [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit38">38</xref>], and on 28 February 2020, WHO raised its global risk assessment from high to very high [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit26">26</xref>].
