POPULATION AGING AND CURRENT ISSUES OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE
Abstract
The aging of the population is a global demographic, social and economic problem of modern life. According to the WHO report for 2019, by 2050, 16% of the world's population will be over 65 years old [1]. Compared with the data for 2011, only 11% of the world population was over the age of 65. The trend to accelerate the aging of the population is associated with an increase in life expectancy and a decrease in the birth rate [2]. The deterioration of demographic indicators attracts the attention of statesmen who are taking measures aimed at increasing the reproduction of the population. Along with solving the above issues, it is equally important to improve the quality of life of older people. The article deals with the problem of population aging and measures aimed at increasing the duration and improving the quality of life of people over 60 years old.
